Lasagna Compost Gardening

During a composting workshop for a homeschool group, we demonstrated how to create a Lasagna Sheet Mulching garden bed. The kids helped us place initial layers during the event. What good helpers they were!

Two weeks after the class, we added another layer of green grass clippings.

Then after another week, we added a layer of soil. The bed is now ready to plant.

After planting, we will scatter either grass clippings or straw around the base of the plants for weed suppression and moisture retention.
