Apple Tree Care Workshop

  • BrynTeg Farm Farm/Home Office Ashippun/Oconomowoc (map)

The care for your apple trees doesn’t end when you’re done pruning each year. We invite you to our Apple Tree Care Workshop: Understanding and Treating Pests and Diseases. Jimmy Thelen, orchard manager at Brightonwoods Orchard in Burlington, WI, returns to teach this learning event.

Topics include an introduction to Integrated Pest Management (IPM), fungi and fungicides, direct/indirect pests and insecticides, calendar spraying, NEWA, etc.

While the class is not geared toward organic growing, a prior attendee mentioned it gave him a beginning understanding of caring for his trees. He chose to go 100% organic, but this workshop provided a foundation in understanding pests and diseases that affect apple trees.
